OppCo CEO, Ann Houston, announces her plan to retire

Ann Houston, OppCo’s founding CEO has announced her plan to retire at the end of 2022. In announcing the news, Ann noted, “I share this news with mixed emotions. I am both excited for new adventures, and very sad to leave an organization and a career that have truly encompassed so many facets of my life.”

From an outside-the-box idea, OppCo has grown into an organization capable of addressing struggles common to many community development organizations. “I could not be prouder of what our incredible team has accomplished in such a short time,” said Ann. “We have a remarkable and talented team that delivers services to our member CDCs. I have tremendous confidence that OppCo's leaders are well positioned to carry the work that we have started together without missing a beat. I also want to acknowledge and thank our donors whose investments in OppCo have enabled us to achieve early success.”

This is an exciting time for OppCo. Our members, TND and Nuestra, are achieving deeper results, with unprecedented growth of 180% in their projects and pipelines. Across the two CDCs, 1,065 homes are currently in construction or development. Additionally, OppCo is on the cusp of welcoming a third member CDC into the OppCo family. We look forward to finding our next leader who appreciates the power of the OppCo model, and who will steward OppCo's future growth.

John Tarvin of Eos Transition Partners will lead the search for our new CEO, supported by OppCo Board President Charlene Bauer and a Search Committee. If you know someone who would be a good match, I hope you'll point them our way. Find the job description HERE.
