The OppCo model allows local community development organizations to enjoy the benefits of scale while keeping control and assets within the communities they serve.
OppCo leverages the combined resources of its members to provide a level of administrative support and programmatic capacity that would otherwise be out of reach. Members remain as independent nonprofits with their own missions and assets. Members also retain local control of decision-making, programming, and budgeting.
Our shared services and access to OppCo’s deep pool of expertise helps members to strengthen the impact of their work, while avoiding the pitfalls that often accompany scale: decreased community accountability, and increased distance between community developers and local leaders.
